So you want to add content to Google. How do you do it? Adding content to Google is a must if you want your website or app to show up in the search listings. Luckily, Google has made it easy to add content to their search engines. You don't need to be an SEO specialist to do this. The process is, in fact, quite simple.

Adding a website to Google

If you have a Google search console account then you can add your website using this method. Here you can verify and submit a sitemap of your site and Google will parse it and then submit it for spidering and indexing. If you don't have a Google search console account then you can set one up for free using your Google account.  I would highly recommend setting one up if you don't have one already due to the amount of information that it provides.

Alternatively, you can submit a website to Google by using the Google Add Url feature. This will submit your website for inclusion in Google's index.

Adding an app to Google

To add an app to Google, you can use Firebase App Indexing. Firebase App Indexing gets your app into Google Search. If users have your app installed, they can launch your app and go directly to the content they're searching for. App Indexing reengages your app users by helping them find both public and personal content right on their device.

Including your structured data in Google search listings

Structured data is a standardized format for providing information about a page and classifying the page content; for example, on a recipe page, what are the ingredients, the cooking time and temperature, the calories, and so on. You can follow the structured data guidelines which help you put the correct code on your website.

Google Search also uses structured data to enable special search result features and enhancements. These include knowledge graphs, carousels and enriched search results.
