There’s been a lot of talk about digital skills and preparing young people, especially girls, to be confident and thrive in a digital future, but where to start? The answer may be TechFuture Girls: a free out-of-the-box after-school club that has been specifically designed to encourage girls to stay engaged in IT and technology.

The club helps girls aged 9-14 develop their technlogy skills through a series of fun challenges, themed around their interests – like music, sport and dance. The club is sponsored by Hewlett Packard and the National Grid and is free for all UK schools to join.

Running TechFuture Girls doesn’t need any specialist IT expertise or software, it’s fully curriculum-compliant, and girls love it. It supports girls’ learning in IT and across the curriculum, and benefits their confidence and self-esteem.
